Melanie Gillette brings more than 25 years of energy industry experience, with a focus in California and the Northwest. She has provided a variety of clients with strategies to address the challenges of integrating renewables into energy portfolios while considering the impacts on the grid. Melanie also works with environmental justice firms and community-based organizations to provide strategic guidance on participation in California regulatory proceedings.

  • Melanie Gillette has over 25 years of California energy regulatory experience. Since 2018, she has been an independent evaluator for three California investor owned utilities and advises utility clients on strategies to address the challenges of integrating energy efficiency into energy portfolios. Melanie has developed, updated and improved governance documents, expanded and formalized a system for regularly updating documentation of dispositions and policy directives and identified key risks and opportunities for improvement to meet regulatory oversight. Ms. Gillette served on the Board of Directors and later worked with energy efficiency and demand response implementers as Senior Policy Director of CEDMC. Melanie’s engagement in California regulatory areas includes energy efficiency, demand response, integrated demand side management, and stakeholder engagement/facilitation.
